From Staten Island NY. Think I heard about your dad did he have a band in NY At one time.

One of your photos with him looks like it is at the Delaware Saengerbund. Is that possible?

Hey!

I read about you in a Polka article, and I think bringing polka back is great! I would love to see our generation get into the music....it really is a timeless tradition. I grew up listening to my grandpa, Frank Yankovic's music and its always held a special place in my heart. Keep doing what you're doing, and I hope to see you play in person one day!

Hi Johnny, My Dad, Joe Koenig used to play accordian in a band with Johnny Pecan (sp?) during the years 1936-41. He also played with Frankie Yankovic. I wonder if you are any relation to us. Mom saved Dad's accordian and it is beautiful with Koenig written on it. She lives in Lyndhurst.

Frank Stalzer

November 12, 2007

Listening to your new CD on 247polkaheaven.com takes me back to Ridgewood, NY years ago, when I listened to your late father's music. I remember him playing with Bobby Svet, who I also knew.
Micha Rouhuf, a IJ on 247, is always looking for great Slovenian style music to play on his show. This would be a wonderful forum for your new CD.
I have a business here in Florida selling German, Austrian, & Gottscheer souvenirs and music. At the present, the business wholesales to stores and restaurants from Florida to Maine, and west to Wisconsin. We're also at the major German festivals in those areas. Hopefully our website at edelweisshaus.com will be finished soon, and then we can offer our products to a greater audience on a retail level.
Looking forward to hearing more from you. You have a really great sound.

Hello Johnny!
Nice to meet you here via Myspace.
Your cover version of Marina is a good one. As I am a collector from collector (I already said I am NOT a collector) I can tell you that this song was born and #1 in 1959 in Belgium (both sides of the country).
Your accordion sounds superb!
Best wishes to you.
Stephan
